Fruits are very
essential in our diets to make us healthy and fit for our daily activities.
Watermelons have many varieties and have been taught to have oriented from
southern Africa, where it is found growing wild. It has been said to improve one’s complexion and hair and am going to give
you some important facts about the consuming of watermelon. Contain 91% water,
6% of sugars and is low in fat.

* Helps in
digestion and regulatory - Because of the
amount of water fiber contained in a watermelon fruit, it helps in digestion
and enhances a regulatory digestive tract which allows undigested food substance
to digest completely.
*Great for the skin care
and hair –It contains Vitamin A which is good for the skin. Vitamin A has multiple functions:
it is important for growth and development, for the maintenance of the skin,
hair, immune system and good vision.
In addition, watermelon contributes to
hydration which is very important in having a good skin and hair.

Lowers blood pressure - Lycopene found in
watermelon help the regulatory system to fight against heart disease which
allows the blood pressure of the aged to be normal and not high. Blood pressure
(BP) is refers to the pressure in large arteries of the systemic circulation.

*Prevents Cancer -There are over
100types of cancer that can be found in both men and women. Watermelon as a
source of antioxidants, including vitamin C helps fight against the formation
of free radicles that are known to cause cancer.

Contains Nutrients and
Compounds-Because Watermelon is one of the lowest calories fruits than berries, it
contains vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, vitamins B1, Vitamins
B5,Vitamins B6 and compounds such as Potassium and Magnesium which helps fight
again any cell damage in the body.
* Relieve muscle soreness- An amino acid in
watermelon known as Citruline may help reduce muscle soreness.Interestingly, watermelon
juice appears to enhance the bio-availability of citrulline. One small study gave athletes
plain watermelon juice, watermelon juice mixed with citrulline or a citrulline
drink. Both watermelon drinks led to less muscle soreness and quicker heart
rate recovery, compared to coralline on its own.
Summary:
Watermelons are a sweet, popular fruit of summer and can be consumed fresh
in
slices, diced in mixed fruit salads, or as juice can be blended with other
fruit juices or made into wine.
*RECOMMENDATION:
Fruit must be washed very well
before sliced or blended for consumption.
